La Femme D'tre The reason arose from the observation of Chrysler's marketing department that more women were taking an interest in automobiles during the 1950's, and that women's opinions on which color car to buy was becoming part of the decisions for the couple buys a car. La Femme is an attempt to gain a foothold in the women's automobile market.
The concept of La Femme was based on two Chrysler auto show season 1954. Call Le Comte and the Comtesse de la, each was constructed from a rigid body Chrysler Newport, and each was given a transparent plastic roof on the carrier. While the count was designed using masculine colors, Countess of graffiti was "Dusty Rose" and "Paloma gray to express femininity. Chrysler favorable response encouraged to follow the concept of La Condesa.
1955
Dodge received the project and name the concept of la Femme, which began as a 1955 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer "spring special" two-door hardtop coupe, painted "Black Sapphire" and "Heather Rose. "From there, the exterior received special gold-colored" La Femme "script that replaces the standard" Custom Royal Lancer "Script cars on the front fenders.

1956
For 1956, the Femme returned without fanfare least letters to dealers of Dodge marketing department called Femme a "stunning success." For 1956, Dodge replaces Heather Rose and Sapphire White scheme with a Misty Orchid and Regal Orchid color scheme. The car's interior in 1956 not to follow the example of model 1955, and in its place is "La Femme" only security patterns, roof, interior paint and carpet. The fabrics used have proved very difficult to reproduce. Legacy
Sales of material for the 1956 Dodge La Femme
Dodge La Femme fall 1957 and did not review the concept. Because Femme is a $ 143 option package, their total was not broken for Dodge production figures, but research suggests that less than 2500 were made during the period of two years. At least 40 known examples there is version 1955 and version 20 for 1956, including at least 3 verifiable D-500 1956 Women's optioned.
There are many theories about the low sales of the femme adjustment package. No evidence of the magazine, television, radio Lafemme other ads have been found since 1986.
